I got this 4kw motor from work for free and it has the makings for a decent wind generator after doing a full conversion. The flange mount will allow for a very secure mounting and allow for plenty of clearnce for the blades.

This is the nameplate that is on the motor.

This picture shows the original wiring.
The old wiring is to be removed and the new wiring scheme will be in the 1-8,1-10,1-12 configuration. To establish the amount of turns required for a 24 volt DC cutin after recifiying I'll do a 1 turn test where just 1 turn of wire will be installed in the motor and the rotor spun to 150 rpm, this will be the approximate cutin for the blades.
I'll be machining up a new steel rotor to hold the 5/8"x1/2" N42 Round Neo magnets which will be skewed 10 degrees of 1 full slot to eliminate any cogging.
This is the arrangement of the round neo magnets, fitting nice and close and staying within the 7 slot distance this configuration still needs to be checked by making a paper template with all the holes then placing it in the motor to check the spacing is correct.
