The Dual Axial Flux Wind Turbine

Where the F&P turbines suffer from cogging and a high cut in speed the dual axial flux don't suffer any of the above faults. They are the perfect DIY turbine to make and can be configured for a cut in speed of around 100 rpm and full power can be around 280-300 rpm where the tubine would furl out of the wind. These turbines are described as an air gap turbine where the main parts are the stator which holds the coils, 2 magnet disks which go on each side of the stator and most people just use a trailer hub for the bearing spindle.
